YOU ARE NOT ALONE
Support groups provide a unique and critical service: Acceptance. This forum allows individuals to ask questions and to learn in a non-judgmental and safe environment. Participants know that everyone attending the meeting understands and has compassion for the functional difficulties of getting through each day.
As a result, less frustration and energy are spent on proving or defining limitations. More energy is available for appreciating the character and companionship offered by others, and recognizing personal self-worth.
TAKE A STEP TOWARDS RECOVERY
Vestibular disorders are more common than you think but a lot of people are unfamiliar with what the vestibular system does or how to manage their lifestyles with vestibular symptoms. We want those suffering to know, they are not alone and we are here to educate, validate and provide support!
We have partnered with VeDA (Vestibular Disorder Association) to create a support group in our area. C. A. V. E. S. (Charlotte Area Vestibular and Equilibrium Support) currently meets quarterly but as we continue to grow we hope to meet monthly.
We invite those suffering from vestibular disorders and their loved ones to come and connect, learn and grow with others in our community as we share personal journeys along with local resources and discover new ways to cope and manage what is too-often a misunderstood and devastating “invisible” illness.
