NEURO SENSORIMOTOR INTEGRATION

UNDERSTANDING & IMPROVING FUNCTION OF THE

CENTRAL NERVOUS SYSTEM

It is important to understand that automatic motor reflex programs exist in each of our bodies, regardless of a label or diagnosis, or the challenges faced. In order for each motor reflex program to emerge, mature, and integrate, however, each one of its underlying neurosensorimotor mechanism components – nervous system, sensory system, and motor system - must be functioning appropriately and cooperatively.

Using a 50-inch HD TV and touch screen, the NSI is designed to offer a host of therapy procedures to a wide range of patients.  The programmable instrument offers procedures to improve; Pursuits, Saccades, Eye-Hand Coordination, Visual Reaction Time, Speed and Span of Recognition, Visual-Vestibular Integration, Oculomotor Skills, Visual Motor Skills and Neuro-Cognitive Skills.

The approach seeks to encourage the nervous system to process and integrate sensory input in organized and meaningful ways, which will ultimately enhance the ability of the nervous system to function more adequately. Each adaptive response, as it provides feedback into the nervous system, encourages maturation and organization of the nervous system at increasingly higher levels. Ultimately the individual is able to interact with his/her environment in more successful and adaptive manner.
